A 3-piece unstitched suit set in Monga silk, in a custom-developed taupe colourway. The shirt fabric is scattered with delicate gold aari pitta booti sprigs and finished with a scalloped metallic lace edge. The dupatta carries a dense hand-done aari pitta jaal of sweeping floral vines and perched birds, gathered into a rich floral medallion border along one edge, worked entirely in raised gold-tone thread. Pants fabric included in matching taupe. This fabric and colour combination was developed in-house — aari pitta work is normally seen on bright, loud grounds, but here it's been paired with a quiet, English-inspired palette for a far more understated result.

Aari pitta work is done with a hooked needle (aari) that chain-stitches metallic pitta thread onto the fabric at speed, building up dense, raised floral and bird motifs that catch the light. It's traditionally worked on vivid colours to make the metallic thread pop; putting it on a muted taupe ground, as here, is a deliberate departure — the embroidery still shines, but the overall effect is far more restrained and wearable.
