Behind the weave
“I visit every loom before I buy from it.”
The market is full of sarees labelled “handloom” that were made on a power loom in a shed. The difference is obvious when you hold one — the weight, the slight irregularity, the way the zari catches light differently on every inch.
I started Sohum Sutras because I wanted to wear sarees I could trace back to a person and a place. Now I source them the same way for you.
