Hand block printing is one of Rajasthan's most celebrated textile traditions, with major centres at Sanganer and Bagru near Jaipur. Each motif is carved into a wooden block and stamped by hand, one impression at a time — a process unchanged for centuries. The natural cotton ground absorbs the dyes cleanly, giving the colours a warmth and depth that screen printing cannot replicate.
