White & Gold Locked Kaduwa Weave Silk Banarasi Saree
Locked Kaduwa Weave · Pure Silk & Zari · White & Gold
Elegant, subtle and utterly classy — this is the saree for the woman who doesn't need to announce herself. A crisp white silk body is woven with fine gold zari stripes running the full length of the fabric, each thread locked in place by the Kaduwa technique so there are no loose floats on the reverse. The border and pallu carry the same restrained gold zari work — understated, architectural, refined. A saree that looks as beautiful on the tenth wear as the first.

The Kaduwa weave is Banarasi's most exacting technique — each motif or stripe is woven with its own individual shuttle (pirn), which is then locked against the warp so no thread floats loose on the reverse. It is slower and more labour-intensive than cut-work alternatives, and the result is a fabric that is clean on both sides and far more durable. White and gold in Banarasi weaving has a long ceremonial history — associated with purity, auspiciousness and quiet confidence.
